RCB Participates in SCMM for The Akshaya Patra Foundation

The 2016 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on Sunday, January 17th, was marked by the participation of Rotarians in the Dream Run, supporting the cause of from different centres for the Republic Day Assembly, was present as well and shared her vision for the children. The Assembly ended with a pledge from all to be good and responsible student citizens of India. BY’s coordinating Rotaryannes were all present at their respective centres, along with Co-Chairman Rajesh Shah with wife, Asha Shah, also an active BY volunteer.

The Bombay head for Vidya (BY’s education partner), Manisha Ahuja, who had trained the children The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF). The joint teams of RCB & TAPF comprised our President Dr. Sonya Mehta and Rotary Don Bomi Framroze, PP Harry Singh Arora and granddaughter Kareena, Rtn. Suresh Lulla, Rtn. Jagdish Malkani and Rtn. Mahesh Khubchandani of RCB, along with other participants of the Dream Team. All the participants were energetic and enthusiastic in supporting the mission of spreading awareness of Akshaya Patra, with the hope of procuring a higher number of participants next year, with a contingent of at least 100 walkers/ runners to support the endeavor with better visibility, higher sponsorship and greater Marathon mileage!
