Third Ananda Yaan centre opens at Dr. E. Moses Road

 In Ananda Yaan

The Elder Care Committee is proud to share that a third centre of Ananda Yaan was inaugurated at the Panchsheel Cooperative Society at Dr. E. Moses road on December 10. This centre will be functional from 11 am to 1 pm daily.

The inaugural function and snacks were organised by our project partners Dignity Foundation. The event was attended by 150 people.

Programme Director Rtn. Madhusudan Daga conducted the ceremonial opening joined by Chairman PP Rtn. Paul George, Dr. Sheilu Shreenivasan, Founder President of Dignity Foundation and the Corporator of Worli, Shri Datta Ram. Other committee members, Rtn. Ptn. Ekta Shah, Volunteer Roma Agrawal and trustees of Dignity Foundation Rtn. Pranay Vakil and Gopal Shreenivasan joined in the celebrations.

Members of other Ananda Yaan centres came together to put up a wonderful show with colourful dances, singing joyfully, and sharing their personal experiences to showcase their takeaway from this initiative. This encouraged the new members to look forward to fun and learning through the coming year.

It was heartening to see elders singing “Yeh dosti hum nahin chhodenge”. The bond of friendship created at the
Byculla centre last year was visible and being celebrated.

Rtn. Madhusudan Daga and PP Rtn. Paul George appreciated their performance in their vote of thanks. Special mention was made of Bhavna and Dilip without whose relentless effort and presence all this would not have been achieved. They announced that new centre will give be given many more opportunities to look forward to, in the years to come, through the Rotary Club of Bombay. Shri Datta Ram, Corporator of Worli, was very appreciative of the project and thanked the Rotary Club of Bombay, adding that he would support this initiative fully.

Everyone present remembered the one person who could not attend: IPP Rtn. Ramesh Narayan. It was his great idea and able leadership that led to the opening of the initial two daycare centres and which has now seen the third one already. The aim is to keep growing as the cause is a worthy one.
