#July is Maternal & Child Health Month for #Rotary Clubs worldwide, a perfect time to highlight our impactful work in #paediatricheartsurgeries. Coincidentally, 1 July is also #InternationalDoctorsDay, making this an ideal moment to thank our healthcare partners for this project.

Through our Global Grants and our partnerships with SRCC Children's Hospital, Mumbai, Kokilaben Hospital, and Shree Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, the Rotary Club of Biombay has conducted over 900 paediatric heart surgeries for children from low income families. These surgeries, provided at low or no cost, lift the heavy burden of healthcare from these less fortunate families.

We couldn't have achieved this without our amazing partners, our Rotary International's Global Grant, our dedicated doctors, and our hardworking committee. On International Doctors' Day, we especially salute the top paediatric surgeons at our partner hospitals who have saved countless young lives.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us, and here's to continuing our mission to improve #maternalandchildhealth in #India.

On June 23, 2024, the Rotary Club of Bombay concluded a transformative journey for Rural Meharashtra with the #inauguration of the Integrated School Development Project at Vavar Ashramshala, Jawhar Taluka, Palghar, Maharashtra.

Supported by Indian Oxides and Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., the project aimed to uplift Tribal female students from Std. I to X residing at the Ashramshala.

President Manoj Patodia led a group of donors, Rotarians, and friends on a 5-hour drive to witness the joyous reception from the students, who expressed their gratitude through dance and music.

Despite challenging conditions, the visit reaffirmed the project's impact on over 198 students, enhancing their lives with solar-powered amenities like Solar Water Heating Systems, Solar Street Lights, a 1 HP Solar Pumping System, and a 6 KW solar off-grid system for electrification.

This initiative not only reinforces the club's commitment to sustainable rural development but also embodies the Rotary motto of "Service before Self." As the team reflected on their journey home, they knew this project would continue to make a lasting difference in the community it serves.

Our second to last meeting of the Club at the #TajPalaceHotel last Tuesday was a super hit!

The Rotary Club of Bombay hosted a debate on whether it is better to be incorrect than politically correct, for RCB members and their spouses. It was moderated by IPDG Sandip Agarwalla.

Our Rotarians and their spouses engaged in a lively discussion on this contentious topic. The debate provided a platform for an open and thoughtful exchange of ideas within the Rotary community.

President Manoj Patodia thanks everyone for a year of tremendous work, vision and vigour. The Club has focussed on multiple projects across Mumbai and rural Maharashtra. We have worked hard and #Shukriyanite is a celebration of it all.
On 15 June 2024, President Manoj Patodia, Immediate Past President Vineet Bhatnagar, and President-Elect Satyan Israni visited the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital. During their routine visit to the hospital, where the Rotary Club of Bombay conducts paediatric heart surgeries (it is one of our 3 Hospital partners for the paedeatric heart surgeries programme), they were invited to hand out certificates to the children who had completed the inaugural computer skilling programme. It was a joyous moment to see the young achievers being recognised for their hard work and dedication. The Rotary Club of Bombay is proud to support such initiatives that empower and uplift the community.
