STEAM For Lighthouse Children

The Rotaract Club of ISME College recently finished an eight-week project titled Paathshala to introduce concepts of science, maths, technology and art to Lighthouse students.

Lighthouse is a project to empower children of fishermen community under Child welfare committee of RCB in association with NGO , Vidya .

STEAM subject taken through Pathshala helps the children to unlock the creative side of their brain and push them to think outside the box. It Compliments young children’s natural curiosity about the world and develops their communications skills.

ISME Rotaractors, Fiza shaikh, Yash v Shah ,Sakshi Chauhan, Harshvardhan Agarwal,Tulasee Nagpal ,Gautam Mehta ,Jheel Mehta,Manav Agarwal ,Pranav Agarwal,Eshaan Karmarkar ,Simran Agarwal ,Harryish Acharya have together planned interactive Zoom sessions and take classes every Saturday.

The second session of Pathshala was very interactive Mathematics. After the first session on Science and explaining children about photosynthesis ,they opened up and got comfortable with college students. Math being almost everyone’s favorite subject, they were filled with enthusiasm! There were multiple segments like 2 digit and 3 digit multiplication tricks, a tic tac toe game based on math problems and an informative video on Exponents. The session ended with mind boggling math riddles and even a magic trick.
Yes you heard it right! The children were awestruck after the math trick and were willing to learn more.
