We can keep guessing who used Ananda Seva from RCB but does it really matter? What matters is the happiness that followed when our members at Dr. E Moses Road came to know that they were going to watch a movie together. Our Ananda Yaan E Moses members have been requesting, for a while, that like the Byculla members, they, too, would like to go for a movie outing. The last time that a majority of members went to watch a movie was almost 20-25 years ago. Access to auditoriums has been out of reach for them. As a matter of fact, entertainment had come to be confined to the four corners of the house. This was especially true as they grew older. First, it was the financial restraint and then it became both financial and physical. Even if someone offered them tickets they were unable to go on their own. Family members unfortunately did not come forward to assist the senior citizens. It was a dream come true when an anonymous donor sponsored not only their movie tickets but also transport by bus. Fifty-five senior citizens jumped at this opportunity. Much like school children, Ananda Yaan members giggled and laughed their way to the Premiere theatre at Dadar to watch Pagalpanti. The whole experience was like a fantasy, with the huge screen, airconditioned atmosphere, plush soft seats, loud music and ice-cream! It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them. They simply loved it! They couldn’t stop talking about this outing for days together. It was their highlight of 2019! Each member took the opportunity to convey their thanks and gratitude to the coordinator for the donor whose identity no one knew!
