LIGHTHOUSE CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS WITH AN ONLINE EVENT. SENIOR ROTARIANS INCLUDING IPP PREETI MEHTA, CHAIRMAN OF THE CHILD WELFARE COMMITTEE RAJESH SHAH, PE SHERNAZ VAKIL, RTN. DILIP DALAL AND RTN. PTN. EKTA SHAH TURNED ATTENDED THE SHOW WHICH WAS EMCEED BY RTR. PURVI TODI AND JINAY PARIKH OF ROTARACT CUB OF H.R. COLLEGE.
The event commenced with students of classes 1and 2 describing the benevolent Santa Claus in their own words. The students, all of seven, wowed listeners with their oratory skills and confidence. This was followed by a carol singing session.
Everyone joined in cheerfully when the K.G. tots sang the ever-popular Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer came next, followed by Frosty the Snowman which was sung by students of classes 3, 4 and 5, in pairs.
The last item was a skit (The Baker’s Dozen) performed in the Readers Theatre style that conveyed the universal Christmas message of giving and caring that has remained unchanged through the ages. The evening ended with everyone jiving to a medley of Christmas rock and Bollywood tunes as our Rotaractors turned DJs.
A big thank you to Ms Manisha Ahuja from Vidya for her support and the teachers of Lighthouse and, most of all, our wonderful students and their parents who – inspite of network and logistic issues – ensured their kids turned up for rehearsals.
