Eye Examination Camp At A Bhavishya Yaan School
With a view to helping children see better, an eye examination camp was conducted at the Ganpatrao Kadam Municipal School, where children from 5th to 10th standard were checked.
This camp was organized through the Aditya Jyot Foundation. Under the leadership of Dr. S Natarajan, Aditya Jyot which is a non-profit organization, work towards providing quality eye care services to the lower socio- economic sections of the society.
A fully equipped team of two optometrists, one optician, three helper staff came with various instruments on which screening was done. Children’s eyesight was tested for refractive errors, amblyopia and other eye issues. They found that 17 children needed spectacles and these were provided free of cost.
They also explained the need of regular follow-ups, and use of glasses and disadvantages of discontinuing them.
Coordinating Rotaryannes Priyanka Jatia and Ekta Shah were present through the camp.
