This past Rotary Year for RCB under the able and dynamic leadership of President Framroze (Fali) Mehta has been unprecedented. The entire year has been on Zoom and despite the lack of physicality, kudos to the President and all Committees for a marvellous year.
The year started on a strong note with the Shukriya and Inauguration meetings garnering strong attendance of 150 plus attendees, At that stage, Rotarians were still getting familiar with the Zoom format and it took some doing from our Committee, especially Rtn. Riddhi Javeri, to get more folks on board.
As the year wore on, we had some fabulous speakers but attendance stabilised at around 80 to 120 attendees depending on speaker, time of meeting and state of lockdown. With digital meetings, the attendance requirement is 25% of all meetings for non-exempt members but despite calling, encouraging and requesting, some members weren’t able to fulfil that level of attendance while some more committed Rotarians had attendance levels of close to 100% including the fellowship and in-camera events.
Given the effects of the pandemic experienced by all in different ways, we did not enforce attendance but do take this opportunity to remind all our Members for the coming year that you must attend maximum number of meetings, While we understand that the fellowship aspect is diluted, we can still connect albeit in 2D but still in real time.
For the past three months, we have been averaging an attendance of between 65 and 85 and which seems to be the same group of people that attends so please do attend for the rest of this year and the next. We really look forward to seeing you all now onwards.
Many thanks for your anticipated attendance, participation and pleasing presence in the days to come.
