Note From President Shernaz Vakil

For weeks now, I have been wanting to start a page in The Gateway bulletin that taps into the generosity of our Rotarians.

I am very sure that a page where we list out small, meaningful gifts would bring more pleasure to us, the donors, than even the recipients.

It may mean nothing for us to spend Rs 5000 on gifting a sewing machine to a poor village lady, but we would be offering her a source of livelihood for years to come. The joy of that gift far outweighs the cost to us!

I am sure that each one of us would like to contribute something small, either on our birthdays or anniversaries or a child’s birthday or in memory of our parents. A small gesture of kindness and altruism which would go a long way in supporting someone else’s livelihood. It is only when we share a little bit of what we have been given, that we show our true gratitude for all that we have.

For some beneficiaries, it could be the difference between life and death. Please support our urgent initiative to support the villagers of Raigad District who have been left homeless by last week’s flood onslaught.

You just have to press on the ‘Click here to donate’ Once the Google form opens, choose any area that you feel you would like to support, and we will go ahead and make your wish come true.

I must thank Rotarians Abhinav Aggarwal and Mudit Jatia of our Bulletin Committee and Alpana Lath of The Narrators for designing the form.
