As Ananda Yaan Turned Four, PP Ramesh Narayan Recently Gave This Vote Of Thanks On Facebook:

“Four years have passed. Ananda Yaan, the elder day care project of the Rotary Club of Bombay, with its partner Dignity Foundation, has achieved its objective of spreading happiness amongst the underprivileged elders in the heart of Mumbai.

The two centres at Byculla and Dr. E. Moses Road have a carefully structured activity programme for five days of the week. And, before Covid, the elders were treated to movies, comedy shows, music performances, visits to temples and so on.

Their health is monitored. They’ve had cataract surgeries thanks to Dr. Natarajan Sundaram of Aditya Jyot, homeopathy from PP Dr. Mukesh Batra, blood tests thanks to Rtn. Rahil Shah of NM, and they’ve been visited by the likes of film actor Nina Kulkarni and singing sensation Shankar Mahadevan, who even sang for them as a labour of love. And, they had a delightful Sports Day as well.

And it has also achieved all the Rotary objectives of service, public image, the hands-on involvement of Rotarians and their partners. Kudos to Vrinda Rajgarhia, Madhusudan Daga, Alok Sekhsaria, Ekta, Charu, Chris Bluemel, Sheilu Sreenivasan, Indu Shahani and her ISME Rotaractors. Privileged to have been a part of this project.”
