SAFETY SESSION FOR LIGHTHOUSE CHILDREN
On Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, we conducted fulfilling SPARSH (Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse) sessions at the Lighthouse Project.
For children aged 4 to 7, we delivered a specially designed module with their mothers in attendance. Another session was conducted for students of Standards 3, 4 and 5, using a module appropriate for ages 8 to 10.
We were greatly encouraged by the interactive responses received from all participants. The enthusiasm reinforced our belief in the importance and value of these sessions. The awareness being imparted is particularly relevant in current times.
‘Internet Safety’ was also gently introduced to the older group of students, who were very responsive to our discussions. We are grateful to the Rotary Club of Bombay for providing this opportunity to empower children. We appreciate the presence of Chairman Rtn. Vandan Shah and Ms. Manisha Ahuja at the Lighthouse, who helped facilitate the sessions. Our President Dr. Mita Roy and member Bhavna Daftary also attended the sessions.
