B.Y. NMJ School participated in an enlightening virtual session on photography

On September 30th, 2024, students from B.Y. NMJ School participated in an enlightening virtual session on photography, organised by the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum (BDL Museum). The interactive programme, attended by 52 students from years 5, 6, and 7, was conducted as part of the museum’s Photography Festival celebrations.

The 90-minute session began with an introduction to the prestigious BDL Museum and its historical significance. Students were then guided through the fascinating journey of photography, from its inception to modernday innovations. The museum’s experts showcased various photographic devices, including the rudimentary pinhole camera, polarised camera, Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera, and the sophisticated Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. The presentation highlighted significant milestones in photography’s evolution, from the revolutionary Kodak era to the digital transformation that saw the transition from pinhole to pixel technology. “The session proved to be both informative and engaging for our students,” remarked a school representative. “They particularly enjoyed learning about the technological progression of cameras through the ages.” The virtual workshop successfully kindled students’ interest in photography while providing them with comprehensive knowledge about its historical development and modern applications.
