Aashayein – Adopt A Village Is An Initiative By The Rotaract Club Of H. R. College
That works for the holistic development of villages in central Maharashtra. Under Aashayein – Adopt a Village, we work on four focus areas: 1. Water (building wells) 2. Light (installation of solarpowered lights) 3. Education and Entrepreneurship (week-long business study sessions held with HSC graduates and above, followed by a Shark Tank-like
model where business plans are heard and the best ones are provided with seed capital funding) and 4. Sanitation (building toilets and distributing sanitary pads).
Thousands of lives have been changed so far; 17 wells have been built, 2 villages have been lit, 70 entrepreneurs
have been successfully funded and the women of one village have been provided with sanitary pads.
