Ay To Open Third Centre In Mazgaon

There are countless underprivileged elders in central Mumbai who live in little tenements of under 300 sq. ft.
With the pressure on space so severe, the elders sometimes end up getting treated like unwanted furniture.

Ananda Yaan (a mission to happiness) is aimed at being that ray of sunlight that brings an element of happiness to these elders in the evening of their lives.

With Dignity Foundation as our partner, Ananda Yaan was launched in 2017 with one centre at Byculla. Marathi actor Nina Joshi was present. Since then it has spread its wings to Dr. E. Moses Road and is now poised to open a third centre in Mazgaon.

Ananda Yaan provides elders with a structured programme three hours a day, five days a week. The activities in this time include yoga, zumba, antakshari, celebrating birthdays of members, and performing skits.

Ananda Seva is an activity where Rotarians can celebrate red letter days on their calendars by providing these elders with a treat. Many Rotarians love the idea and sponsor a lunch, or a chaat meal, tickets to a music show or a picnic.
