BY Kids At 98-Year-Old Museum
Did you know that the architecture of the CSMVS is an amalgam of five different architectural styles? Or, that the museum’s dome is inspired by the Gol Gumbaz of Bijapur?
These were just some of the fascinating facts Ms. Sharvari, co-ordinator for children’s programme at the Children’s Museum shared with our Lighthouse students when they visited on February 6th.
Around 45 students from classes 1 to 5 listened, enthralled, as Ms. Sharvari narrated the fascinating tale of how the 98-year-old museum came into being. An exhibition of 3D models showcasing the negative effects of climate change/ pollution, currently on display, caught the fancy of the students.
Finally it was time for the main event – Xang Xang Klang, an action/ adventure film for children. Children roared with laughter at the antics of the two villains, particularly when they lost their trousers and held their breath when Bholi, a simple village girl and the heroine of the film, was captured by the bad guys. Like all children’s films, this one too had a happy ending albeit with a familiar message: “If we don’t start caring for our planet soon, it could be completely destroyed in the near future.”
