On March 11th, 2025, students from Bhavishya Yaan NMJ embarked on an enriching educational visit to the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum. A total of 46 students from Classes 6 and 7 attended the excursion, which was designed to deepen their understanding of history, geography, and environmental conservation. One of the most thought provoking exhibits was centred on the Partition of the Indus River. This display underscored the significance of river systems that transcend national boundaries, influencing the lives, cultures, and economies of millions. It encouraged students to reflect on the shared responsibility of preserving these vital water resources. In addition to geographical themes, the museum also featured a fascinating section on water footprints across different countries.

This exhibit illustrated how water consumption varies worldwide, drawing attention to alarming statistics and emphasising the urgent need for sustainable water management. The students engaged in meaningful discussions about their personal water usage and the impact of everyday activities on global water resources.

A particularly creative exhibit reimagined Queen Victoria’s crown as a tribute to freedom fighters. The display of constitutions from various nations printed on fabric highlighted universal values of justice, equality, and human rights, offering students a broader perspective on governance and democracy.

Following the museum tour, an interactive session on water conservation was conducted. Students explored different types of water sources—freshwater, saltwater, and groundwater— and their crucial roles in maintaining ecological balance. They learned about innovative rainwater harvesting techniques and simple, practical ways to conserve water in their daily lives.

The visit to the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum was an insightful and inspiring experience that seamlessly blended history, culture, and environmental awareness. It left a lasting impression on the students, motivating them to become more conscious of conservation and sustainability in their communities.
