Change of guard at the Interact Club of Gopi Birla Memorial School

The Interact Club of Gopi Birla Memorial School has always acquitted itself remarkably well by taking up projects that benefit the community. It has won accolades for its all-round service activities and received the Rotary International Presidential Citation last year. Among other programmes, the Interactors have been helping the support staff of the school and have taken on the responsibility of raising their voice to save natural vegetation by protesting against the destruction of forests.

On Monday, July 13, the Interactors once again renewed their pledge to serve the community. At a wellattended ceremony involving the changing of guard, the outgoing office-bearers passed on the baton to their successors, urging them to continue the good work in the new academic session 2015- 16. The Moderator, Ms Khyati Dwarkadas, introduced the members of the sponsoring Rotary Club of Bombay who were led by President Dr. Sonya Mehta. With her were Director Preeti Mehta, Interact Chair Natasha Treasurywala and Ms Pinky Jogani. After outgoing President Shail Shah and the directors presented their annual report, it was time to install the new President, Vidhi Vyas, who introduced her team of officebearers. The Rotarians, along with the Principal, Ms Deepa Shetty, then proceeded to install the office-bearers of the Interact Club of Gopi Birla Memorial School.

In her address, the Principal hoped that the new office bearers would leave no stone unturned in taking the Interact programme in the school to even greater heights. For their part, the Rotarians asked the Interactors to always keep the Four-Way Test in mind and to adhere to the values and principles enunciated by the Club. The programme was compered by Hon. Secretary Raj Damani and Joint Hon. Secretary Manasvi Shah under the guidance of the mentors, Ms Dwarkadas and Ms Manisha Srivastava. The vote of thanks was proposed by Vice-President Dhairya Patel.
