Update: RCB’s Water Resources Committee has completed a number of projects in the Rotary year 2019-20.

Below is a brief outline of these:

WOTR Projects:
In Jalna we, as RCB, in collaboration with Eureka Forbes, Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR), the Gram Panchayat and the Rotary Club of Jalna. The project was executed in seven villages.

Villages benefitted: Kolegaon, Banegaon, Kota Jahagir, Tigalkheda, Khedgaon, Nihalsingwadi, Pimperkhed. Benficiaries: 13,000.

Paani Foundation (Marathwada & North Maharashtra Projects):
We provided clean drinking water facility in 16 villages of Marathwada and north Maharashtra. The project is complete.

7 villages in Marathwada: Sudamwadi, Janefal ,Pasodi, Dipwewadgaon, Moha, Langotwadi, Ramwadi

9 villages in North Maharashtra: Nagaon Khurd, Chorwad, Diksal, Navanagar, Lamkani, Sarve, Rajderwadi, Jogewadi, Nandur Pathar

Total beneficiaries: 33,000 approx.

Bombay SPCA Animal Hospital, Parel
The Bombay Society for the Preventions of Cruelty to Animals including the Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals was established in 1874 and is over 144 years in existence.

We as RCB got a chance to serve the hospital with water purifiers. We have provided six filters to get safe clean water to animals and the staff at the hospital.

Beneficiaries: Pets – 100, Staff – 50 daily
Project with RCB East, Palghar
A project supported by RCB in collaboration with RCB East in Dist. Palghar. Two schools were identified by the RCB

East to provide water purifiers: Kolhi School & Bapne School in Dist. Palghar.

Total beneficiaries: 350 daily

Guru Nanak High School, Sion:
It is an ongoing project where the school has asked for water purifiers in the school premises. The project is expected to be complete soon.

Total beneficiaries: 930 approx.

Paani Foundation Phase 3 (Vidarbha Projects)
After the completion of Phase 2 inaugurations, RCB will be working for the 3rd phase in Vidarbha district, Maharashtra. We will be providing water plants to 11 villages in Vidarbha. Villages are identified by local NGO AGVSS. The programme is to start soon.

Ashram, Shirdi
A project for the ashram at Shirdi will benefit people staying in the ashram.

Total beneficiaries: 1000 daily

Lal Bahadur Shastri School, Palghar
The Sathe Nagar plant was relocated to Lal Bahadur Shashtri School in Manor, District – Palghar. This facility directly benefits over 3,500 students and teaching faculty daily.
Total beneficiaries: 3500 students & teaching staff daily.

Loyola Ashram School, Dongripada, Dahanu
The Adarshnagar plant was shifted to the Loyola Ashram School in Dongripada, Dahanu. The facility benefits over 1,100 children and teaching faculty daily.

Total beneficiaries: 1100 students & teaching staff daily.
WINS Project:
A project in Palghar district provides Hand Wash stations to 758 schools. The project is supported by SACRED, UNICEF & NILKAMAL.

Vidya Mandir School, Dapchari
The school has requested a water purification system. It will benefit 363 students on a daily basis.

Shri. Pandurang Kore School, Palghar
The school has asked for a water purification system. It would benefit 169 students on a daily basis.
