Any report on the Yoga Committee would be incomplete without Rtn. Sitaram Shah. Sitaramji joined Rotary Club of Bombay on April 3rd, 1990 and continued as an active Rotarian until he passed away on November 6th, 2019. He headed this Committee as its Chairperson until he passed away.
He was a dedicated Rotarian, committed to various causes, with Yoga being his passion. He was always grateful to RCB for letting him create the Yoga Committee. He chaired the Committee for the last four years. Like every year, the Committee was active.
The Yoga Committee conducted Yoga Yaan Training in 10 BMC schools for the academic year 2019-20 in association with Kevalyadham. Almost 1500 children were taught yoga through 30 sessions.
A camp called the “Phoenix Mega Medical camp” was held on January 18th & 19th, 2020 at Phoenix Mill compound. This was inaugurated by Chief Guest Rtn. Harjit Singh Talwar, Governor, Dist. 3141 and Guest of Honour Shri S. Veeresh Prabhu, IPS, (Addl. Commissioner of Police) and Chairman of Yoga Committee, Rtn. Manoj Patodia and Rtn. Charu Agarwal of Rotary Club of Bombay were present. A total of 162 people visited RCB stall during the two days for benefits of yoga therapies. Patients were checked by the doctors and Yoga teachers who taught them the benefits of yoga.
