Door Ke Darshan By RCISME
ON OCTOBER 17TH, 2020, ROTARACT CLUB OF ISME COLLABORATED WITH ANANDA YAAN FOR ITS PROJECT YAADON KI BAARAT. THE THEME CHOSEN BY THE ENTHUSIASTIC ROTARATORS WAS ‘DOOR DARSHAN’ AS THEY DECIDED TO TAKE THE ELDERS ON A VIRTUAL TRIP AROUND INDIA.
In the first session, participants enjoyed a fun game to guess the names of popular tourist attractions and delicacies from around India.
In the second session, the participants were taken on a virtual tour of the states of Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan with the hosts (the Rotaractors) dressed in traditional attires representing these states.
1. Punjab was the first stop for the participants to acquaint them with the rich history of the state, the importance of its rivers, its abundant natural resources and stories of the valour and patriotism of its people.
2. Gujarat, the second stop, acquainted them with the festival of Navaratri, Rann of Kutch – India’s largest salt reserve and Gandhiji’s Dandi March from Sabarmati Ashram.
3. Rajasthan was the last stop where they heard of the state’s opulent palaces like the Umaid Bhavan, the Hawa Mahal and many others.
Food and fashion were the common threads of discussion in all three states.
The third session was a musical performance by Ayush Kadam, who rendered Bollywood retro songs such as Lag ja Gale, Har Kisiko Nahi Milta, Dilbar Mere, Pehela Nasha and Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye and which was enjoyed by all and one present.
After the vote of thanks, all the participants were invited to join the Rotaractors on October 24th, 2020 for another fun event which is to be the last of this series.
