EMPOWERING CHILDREN WITH SAFETY AWARENESS
On Thursday, March 13th, 2025, the Inner Wheel Club of Bombay partnered with Interact School Anjuman-E-Islam School and Allana Institute of English, under the Rotary Club of Bombay, to conduct an essential session on child safety. Zainab Lokhandwalla led two impactful sessions of Sparsh – Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse. The first session was attended by approximately 60 girls, followed by a second session with around 85 boys, all from Standards 5 and 6. The students listened attentively and engaged actively, answering quiz questions with enthusiasm and accuracy.
Inner Wheel Club of Bombay President Mita Roy concluded the session with valuable insights, reinforcing the importance of awareness and vigilance. Member Niloufer Vazifdar was present to offer support, while Interact Coordinator Rizvi Ma’am ensured smooth audiovisual arrangements, making the organisers feel welcome and comfortable.
The sessions provided a safe space for children to learn about personal safety, boundaries, and the importance of speaking up. It was a truly fulfilling experience, equipping young minds with knowledge to protect themselves and fostering a culture of awareness and empowerment.
