Jan Jagran Report
Helping the underprivileged girl child help herself.
The IES ground at Matunga was filled to capacity with more than 800 people. Achala Joshi, Rotaryanne Lata Palekar, Geeta Dhote and Pratibha Pai had come together in an initiative that the Rotary Club of Bombay supported, to organize a Jan Jagran, to create awareness about the need for girls to get skilled in some profession that could help them stand on their own two feet.
The well-curated event ended with over one hundred registrations from underprivileged children who would now be classified according to that skill they preferred learning, and then sent to various skill development institutes.
Pooja Kamble the young Bhavishya Yaan alumni who is interning with Taj President Hotel was engaged in conversation on stage by the emcee and gave a great validation of what Bhavishya Yaan had done for her so far.
Two more such Jan Jagrans are planned for the year.
