July & August for Rotaract Club of ISME

WEvolve This project reminded members that no matter how challenging life gets or how occupied we constantly are, we should always find time to do activities which make us happy and make us feel content. WEvolve was held in the first week of our new Rotaract year, from July 1st to 7th, 2021. A WhatsApp group was created to encourage everyone to share a daily self-care activity. Motivational quotes reminded all to rejuvenate.
Langar for Hunger Langar for Hunger involved langar seva in a Gurudwara on July 4th, 2021: washing vessels, helping in kitchen preparations, and serving food. Rotaractors also donated grains. In August, RCISME distributed over 200 packets of poha in slums around Kandivali.

Fly High – Membership drive In the spirit of Rotaract Membership month, we conducted two membership drives for our incoming juniors. Not only did we demonstrate the Rotaract way of life but also had two fun afternoons of games and music. We also attempted to get to know our juniors and discussed their varied interests.

Pawscue (Community Service) On World Humanitarian Day (August 19th, 2021) we decided to help our fourlegged friends. We collaborated with PawsHunger, a youth-run organisation that focuses on the wellbeing of dogs. Our aim was to collar dogs with reflective collars which we did for 110 dogs in the Andheri area. The reflective collars prevent night-time canine fatalities as it makes the dogs visible to drivers.

Raabta (first International Collaboration project) In an effort to rekindle friendship with Pakistan, we celebrated our Independence Day on August 15th, 2021, with the Rotaract Club of Lahore. We played virtual games and went on virtual tours of both countries. We ended the evening with a beautiful live music session. While an Indian singer sang classical songs for them, we, in turn, enjoyed a Sufi night.
