Location: Mumbai University Campus at Kalina
Annual budget: Project has already been funded by HDFC MF for a residual of 9 years. Rs 25 lakhs additional one-time cost needed for rainwater harvesting + water body treatment.
Project theme: Conservation of Environment – Restoration of Biodiversity
Objective:
• To rejuvenate the lake and create a healthy habitat for the aquatic plants and animals.
• To develop a biodiversity park around the lake by planting fruit and berry trees to invite birds and create an oxygen hub.
• To create a butterfly garden to help increase the pollination and restoration of habitats through the careful selection of host plants.
