Immediate Past President Manoj Patodia opened the ceremony with a reflective address, emphasising the importance of approach and attitude over mere targets and records. “The goal in front of every incoming team in the Rotary Club of Bombay is defined more by approach and attitude,” he remarked, setting a thoughtful tone for the proceedings.

The event witnessed heartfelt tributes and anecdotes, including a touching tribute from Rtn. Hiranmay Biswas, who recounted President Satyan’s unwavering commitment and determination. “Satyan had to go to Delhi for a case, flew early in the morning, attended the case, and flew back the same day to attend a tournament at NSCI club,” he shared, illustrating President Satyan’s dedication.

President Satyan, in his inaugural address, expressed deep gratitude and a sense of responsibility upon assuming the presidency. He acknowledged the pivotal role his family played in his Rotary journey and paid tribute to past leaders.

The ceremony highlighted the Rotary Club of Bombay’s ongoing and future projects, underscoring its commitment to impactful initiatives such as paediatric heart surgeries and expanding dialysis centres across Mumbai. President Satyan announced an upcoming fundraiser on August 29th to support these ambitious projects, rallying members and guests to contribute actively.

Focusing on innovation and collaboration, President Satyan outlined plans for a new medical facility in Alibaug and an Ayurveda garden at the University of Mumbai, emphasising the Club’s broader footprint in healthcare and environmental stewardship.

A significant moment came with the recognition of generous donors, where President Satyan unveiled an exclusive initiative for contributors. “Anyone giving the Club a donation of Rs 10 lakh, or giving a donation of $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation, will be given an exclusive limited edition postal stamp sheet created by the India Post for the Rotary Club of Bombay,” he announced, celebrating prominent donors Yogesh Mahansaria and PP Nirav Shah for their substantial contributions.

Highlighting the club’s commitment to modernisation, President Satyan introduced a new Club cap and a redesigned banner, symbolising unity and the Club’s vibrant identity. He concluded with the unveiling of the Club’s revamped website, showcasing its adaptation to contemporary digital platforms. The ceremony also featured speeches from distinguished guests, including District Governor Chetan Desai and TRF Trustee Dr. Bharat Pandya. DG Chetan Desai outlined ambitious district-wide initiatives, including the adoption of Anganvadis and a comprehensive breast cancer screening programme. Dr. Bharat Pandya echoed a vision of a bigger, bolder Rotary, highlighting the Rotary Foundation’s transformative impact and optimistic outlook.

PE Bimal Mehta concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all attendees, sponsors, and volunteers who made the ceremony a resounding success.
