Rotary Child Raises Funds To Send Lighthouse Children For A Play At The Royal Opera House
As an end-of-year treat, around 32 Lighthouse students from ages 6 to 11 years were taken to see Snow White and the 7
Dwarves – A Broadway Musical at the Royal Opera House on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022.
The production, staged by Vishal Asrani Institute of Performing Arts in association with Pioneer Drama Co. USA, was a retelling of the classic Grimms fairytale, albeit with a twist. Through the play, director Jiji Subi conveyed the importance of the Three Magic Words and emphasised that looks or external appearances are of little value unless accompanied by a kind and generous heart.
The 90-minute performance was interspersed with lively song and dance and, at critical junctures in the storyline,
children (in the audience) were encouraged to respond verbally. When the show ended, our children posed for photos with the cast. In addition to joyful memories, each student also took home a nutritious packet of milkshake courtesy Ms. Ishti Agrawal, daughter of our Rtn. Charu Agrawal.
