Service Box Nets Over Rs. 13k For Animal Welfare

The Club’s Service Box made an appearance at the meeting of September 29, with the collection being earmarked for the Animal Welfare Committee. And it did quite well, indeed! Joint Hon. Secretary Framroze Mehta announced at the end of the meeting that a total of Rs. 13,470 has been collected and will be utilised by the Animal Welfare Committee. Earlier, President Dr. Sonya Mehta had urged members to make liberal contributions to the Service Box and lauded Animal Welfare Committee and its Chair Priyasri Patodia for its outstanding work, including donating an X-Ray machine for animals to the SPCA. Some members of the Committee stood at the registration counter at the last meeting and requested members to pick a ribbon of any one of four colours. The ribbons were then pinned on their sleeves. When they approached the lunch tables, they sat at tables that had ribbons with similar colours.

President Dr. Sonya Mehta requested the guest speaker, Ms Geeta Anand, to pick a ribbon and announced that those seated at the table with blue ribbons would be presented with eco-friendly gifts. The winners included Jagdish Malkani and Hoshang Billimoria.
