Shankar Mahadevan’s Treat For AY

The teachers of Shankar Mahadevan Academy put up a music show on February 8th, at 7:30 pm. The senior citizens of Ananda Yaan watched the one-and-a-half-hour-long live entertainment together on a big screen at the Dr E Moses Road centre while others logged in from their homes.

Our 80 Ananda Yaan elders, 40 Bhavishya Yaan children and Lighthouse students and 160 street children of Salaam Baalak Trust supported by the Child Welfare Committee of Rotary Club of Bombay were glued to their phones and screens singing and dancing along.

They were overjoyed by the bumper surprise when the singing maestro Mr Shankar Mahadevan himself joined the Zoom meeting for some time. He interacted with elders and mesmerised the audience by singing ‘Aye Watan’. He also sang a Marathi song on popular demand for the audience.

Rotary Club of Bombay is in gratitude for such a wonderful opportunity given to our senior citizens and children and specially thank Mr Sridhar Ranganathan of the Shankar Mahadevan Academy, rocking singer of Shankar Mahadevan Academy, Mr Karthik and Coordinator Ms Ritika without whom none of this would have happened so smoothly and effortlessly.

Along with 200 plus participants PP Ramesh Narayan, Rtn. Satyan Israni and Rtn. Ptn. Ekta Shah also enjoyed a series of peppy and uplifting songs with senior citizens and children.
