Shining A Light On Ganapati

Lighthouse Project celebrated Ganesh Utsav recently. While President Shernaz Vakil chatted with the kids, PP Preeti Mehta told them a story. Students from Kindergarten to grade 6 participated in activities on par with their learning level. So, while the younger children narrated stories of Ganesh, the older ones spoke about the origin of the festival, its traditional form, and its present-day evolution into a commercial show. Students followed the Reader’s Theater method which emphasises diction. There were songs, quizzes, theatre, and posters had been made and spread in the Machchimaar Nagar community where they lived. The programme ended with a small speech in English given by a mother who is a part of the recently-initiated Mothers’ programme. Chairman Rtn. Rajesh Shah thanked the teachers, parents, PP Ramesh Narayan, Rtn. Charu Agrawal, Rtn. Dilip Dalal, and Rtn. Ptn. Ekta Shah for celebrating with the children.
