 In Fund Raiser

Singer Sonu Nigam put his vocal chords to good use with his stellar performance at the Rotary Club of Bombay’s headlining fund-raiser

TUNE TOH PAL BHAR MEIN CHORI KIYA REY JIYA… SONU NIGAM

THE Rotary Club of Bombay’s fundraiser “Sonu Nigam- Live in Concert”, held on August 27th, 2019, at NCPA was a great success, thanks to the efforts of hard-working Rotaractors, Rotarian Partners and Rotarians.

This was Sonu Nigam’s first show in India since 2008. Although small, compared to his big concerts abroad, Sonu’s performance was powerpacked much to the delight of the houseful NCPA auditorium. From old songs to new, Sonu had everything for everyone.

RCB President Preeti Mehta thanked all the listed and anonymous people who helped in fund-raising and making the event successful. Sonu Nigam performed beyond his capacity as a singer. He entertained and kept the audience engaged: it was not just the songs but also his puns and stories. He got the audience involved in his story-telling style performance. From ‘Main hoon deewana tera’ to ‘Yeh dil deewana’ to a heart touching and everyone’s favourite, ‘Sandese aatein hai’, Sonu had it all.

The audience enjoyed tapping their feet and singing along to the his melodious voice. Sonu, who started performing at the age of six, will now complete 42 years of stage performances.

The non-stop two hour concert was power packed with loads of feeling, humour, songs and a lot of cheers and applause.
