THE SMT. ANUSUYA DEVI TAPARIA JUNIOR COLLEGE TALWADA, TALUKA VIKRAMGAD, DISTRICT PALGHAR, WAS STARTED IN THE YEAR 2004-2005 WITH THE HELP OF ADIVASI SEWA MANDAL, MUMBAI AND THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY FOR THE POOR AND NEEDY ADIVASI STUDENTS OF THIS REMOTE REGION. THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN THEIR NUMBER AND QUALITY OVER THIS PERIOD.

Due to tireless efforts of the Principal and Teachers from the academic years 2004-2005 through 2019-2020 the result of HSC (both Science and Arts) have continued to be unbeatable. In recognition of the college’s performance in its early years, the Department of Tribal Development, Thane, had awarded the College the First Prize of Adarsh Kanishth Mahavidhyala in the year 2008-2009. The college has since built on its reputation. This has helped the college to attract some support from NGOs in the area.

Students have participated in many activities and achieved great success in sports competitions e.g. kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, running, high jumping, long jumping, marathon, etc. The college has also maintained a tradition of participating in The Annual Science Exhibition.

The Tree plantation Programme “One Student One Tree” which began in 2004 continues and efforts are being made to nurture the trees in the entire campus.

The college also conducts career guidance lectures wherein the principal and teachers provide personal and health guidance, which has resulted in many alumni becoming doctors, engineers, teachers, policemen, nurses and many other Government positions. The college brings such alumni back to inspire young students.

National festivals and cultural events are organised and observed by students. The college expressed its gratitude to RCB for its support.
