To Market, To Market
62 children from Lighthouse Project’s Junior KG, Senior KG, and standards 1 and 2 participated in a supermarket role
scenario. Play builds confidence, creativity communication, and physical development. It is fun and allows children to explore real life roles in a controlled environment. At Supermarket Day, our Lighthouse kids learned about dairy products, fresh foods, cleaning supplies and grocery items which they purchased with fake currency. After shopping, the children also enjoyed eating fruits.
We thank Rtn. Dilip Dalal for sending baskets full of fresh fruit for our kids. Each fruit was cut and served separately to make them experience and know different tastes. This included uncommon fruits like grapefruit, dragon fruit and kiwi. While they especially enjoyed pineapple, they ate everything served ti them be it apple, pear, banana, sweet lime, papaya, custard apple and muskmelon.
