Sometimes all you need is a new vision!
16 cataract surgeries! 1852 eye checkups! 182 prescription glasses! Thanks Aditya Jyot Foundation!
The Rotary Club of Bombay thanks IPP Rtn. (Dr.) Radhika Krishnan (Rotary Club of Mumbai, Sion), CEO of Aditya Jyot Foundation for Twinkling Little Eyes for her stellar work in serving the society by facilitating free eye check-ups, advanced screenings and cataract surgeries.
We also thank Dr. S. Natarajan of Aditya Jyot. Aditya Jyot Foundation for Twinkling Little Eyes is a not-for-profit body that has out-reach programmes to redress the suffering of low income groups, marginalised population living in rural and urban slums and tribal areas in our state with free eye camps and free eye treatment. After eye screenings,
prescribed eye glasses were given and patients were referred to Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital for further treatment.
Over the last three years, this NGO has sent professional teams of doctors and professionals to all our projects including Ananda Yaan at both Byculla and Dr. E. Moses Road centres. They have screened 222 eyes and 104 prescription
glasses were distributed for free.
Forty-one senior members were identified with cataract. After doing advanced tests at their eye hospital, 16 cataract operations were done for free.
In addition, 1630 BMC students were checked at Byculla, Colaba and G.K. Marg schools where RCB runs the widely acclaimed Bhavishya Yaan programme; 78 spectacles were distributed for free.
A special mention and shout out to Sagar Chakor, Dr. Radhika’s secretary.
