From President of The Advertising Club to the President of the Rotary Club of Bombay

From President of The Advertising Club to the President of the Rotary Club of Bombay – and with many other national
and international recognitions in addition to these – PP Ramesh Narayan’s work in advertising and community service
encompasses a considerable range.

While Rotarians know him best for conceiving and implementing RCB’s star projects – Bhavishya Yaan, Ananda Yaan
and Lighthouse Project – the advertising world knows him as an ad man. Founder of Canco, he was its Brahma (creator), Vishnu (nurturer) and, ultimately, Mahesh (destroyer). In 2005, he shut down his company overnight and stepped out of the rat race.

In ‘A Different Route to Success: It Could Be Yours’, the new book written by PP Ramesh, he lays out the trajectory to this life-changing moment in the first chapter itself. He was almost 50, and a disgruntled feeling had been brewing about how advertising was changing. So he discussed it with Rtn. Ptn. Devi, called his Canco team and quit cold turkey.

PP Ramesh co-owned a farm in Bengaluru with his sister Geeta, and so he became an organic farmer. Stories of these, and other roads he frequently travelled, are all packed into this ringside view of his life. Congratulations on your book, PP Ramesh!
