Girl Power For Vaidu Women

The Rotaract Club of Hinduja College along with Rotary Club of Bombay, in collaboration with Free Pads for India, organised “Periods Of Sharing” – a three-month long initiative to donate free sanitary pads and educate Vaidu girls and women about menstruation.

The event was conducted at two venues: Jogeshwari and Marol. The speaker Dr. Khushboo Muni explained what periods are and why it is crucial for girls to have periods. She included the right age to get periods, different products to use along with their proper disposal. She shared remedies for pains and how to maintain absolute hygiene.

Dr. Muni also talked about menopause and why, when going through it, it is necessary for women to educate the men around them. She ended by telling girls: “Menstruation is a normal and essential process which no one should be ashamed of. It is a beautiful process of making life!”

Sanitary napkins were donated to a hundred girls and women which would last them for three months.
