Christmas Cheer Through Meditation and Kindness at G. K. Marg

At G. K. Marg Municipal Secondary School in Lower Parel, Mumbai, an inspiring one-hour storytelling workshop was conducted by Sarita Shetty, a certified Parenting Life Coach, professional storyteller, writer, and trainer. Titled “The Little Star and the First Christmas,” the session engaged 48 primary children in a blend of joy, creativity, and personal growth. The workshop began with interactive games, which filled the room with laughter and active participation. Sarita then narrated the heartwarming story of a little star’s journey to self-discovery, highlighting themes of courage and the importance of shining one’s own light. With catchy jingles and fun body movements, the children were kept captivated throughout the session.

The experience concluded with the singing of “Silent Night” and an “I Am Special” meditation, which encouraged the children to recognise and appreciate their unique strengths. The children then created their own Christmas trees adorned with a little star, symbolising themselves.

Through open-ended questions, the children shared their acts of kindness, mirroring the little star’s journey. Responses included helping an old man cross the road, assisting their mothers with errands, and offering support to teachers. This beautiful session instilled the spirit of Christmas through storytelling, kindness, and reflection, leaving a lasting impact on the young participants.
