Status of projects completed during the year

Rs. 15 lakhs are given every year as operating costs to the Mankhurd Centre. Rs. 28,000 was spent for the Christmas party. Committee members joined President Satyan Israni and Director PP Framroze Mehta for a Christmas celebration at the Mankhurd Centre, hosting 50 children with special needs and their families. The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony and gala party, followed by an inclusive group therapy session bringing together children, parents, and Rotarians. Each child received a Doraemon￾themed study table and school bag as Christmas gifts.

During the visit, the committee reviewed the centre’s comprehensive support structure, which includes occupational therapists, a clinical psychologist, and weekly speech therapy sessions. The programme maintains daily progress reports for each child and trains parents in specialised care techniques to support their children’s development and prepare them for potential integration into specialised schools.

The committee has requested additional suggestions from staff to further enhance the programme’s effectiveness.
