All Six Rotaract Clubs To Work Together For The SPCA

For the first time, all six Rotaract Clubs sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bombay collaborated under the guidance of the Rotaract Committee for a joint project with the Animal Welfare Committee and the SPCA. Initially, Priyasri Patodia and Satyan Israni held a meeting with the trustees of SPCA to understand their needs and how to forge a lasting relationship. Thereafter, a meeting was held at the Rotary Office on August 11 at which Rotaractors from H.R. College, Government Dental, Jai Hind, the Rotaract Club of Bombay and the newly-formed Rotaract Club of Indian School of Design and Innovation were present.

(The Hinduja Rotaractors had sought leave of absence.) Among the topics discussed at this brainstorming session were building awareness about the SPCA and helping it develop visibility with the help of social media to encourage a connect with the public at large. And then, on August 19, Priyasri organised a visit to the SPCA. Those who comprised the team were Priyasri herself, Sherebanu Baldiwala and Rotaractors from four colleges. They met with Mr. Kamal Tata, Col. Khanna, the person in charge, and Ms Diana at the Medical office of the SPCA. They were taken on a conducted tour of the facility and also allowed to take photographs to be used for creating awareness about the SPCA. A very noble idea, indeed. This has all the makings of a long-term project and the Rotaractors have promised to keep members updated about their activities.
