Game on at RCB’s first treasure hunt!

Rotary Club of Bombay held a treasure hunt “Yeh Hai (South) Bombay Meri Jaan, on Sunday, December 4th, 2022. The hunt was organised by Rtn. Ptn. Ushma, Rtn. Gautam Doshi’s wife.

We had seven teams in seven cars with a total of 37 members, their partners and children participating in the event.THE TEAM NAMES WERE – VICTORIUS, ACE, TITANS, RCB YOUNG GUNS, GOLD MINERS, IRON MAN – BRAINS & BRAWN AND LES FORMIDABLES.

Ushma had asked the participants to identify and visit 15 locations across south Mumbai (Worli to Colaba) and answer five quiz questions in 2.5 hours.

The event started with everyone gathering at the entrance of the Turf Club at 9.30 am with Ushma giving detailed instructions on how to proceed. All the clues as well as details on the application to be downloaded were shared with the teams.

The teams set out at 10 am and were to finish the hunt in two and a half hours and meet at 145 Restaurant in Kamala Mills at 12.30 pm. As the teams set out on the hunt, Ushma, Vineet and Gautam monitored the progress of all the teams live. As 12.30 pm approached, we saw that all the teams were making great progress, however there was one team which was absolutely flawless in both their planning and execution – Team Ace.

At 12.30 pm, we all gathered at 145 Restaurant and over drinks and lunch, the winners, First as well as second Runner-Ups were announced. Team Ace won the treasure hunt, the first Runnerup was Team Titans and the second Runner-up was RCB Young Guns. They all were given gift hampers to celebrate their victory.

The winning team was Rtn. Sameer Chinai, Rtn. Ptn. Alpana, their daughter Sanjana and son-in-law Aniket Dharamshi. All the participants led by Vineet thanked Ushma for her outstanding planning and execution of the event. Given the resounding success of the event, we hope to make the treasure hunt an annual event.
