Lighthouse students explore Gandhi’s legacy at Mani Bhavan
A group of 30 Lighthouse Project students, from Standards 1 to 5, visited Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. Accompanied by four teachers, the students
embarked on an enriching educational journey through the historic museum.
The young visitors were captivated by the extensive collection of exhibits, including Gandhiji’s personal belongings, letters and photographs chronicling pivotal moments in India’s freedom struggle. These carefully preserved artefacts provided them with tangible connections to the nation’s path to independence and Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophical principles of non-violence and simplicity.
Throughout the visit, teachers facilitated meaningful discussions, encouraging students to reflect on how Gandhi’s teachings remain relevant in contemporary times. The historical atmosphere of Mani Bhavan created an immersive learning environment, helping students forge deeper connections with this significant chapter of Indian history.
The educational excursion concluded with thoughtful reflections on Gandhi’s enduring legacy. Students were inspired to consider how his fundamental values of peace, non-violence and simplicity could be applied in their own lives, making the visit both educational and transformative.
