OUR UNSUNG HEROES
The backbone of Rotary’s many projects that require personal intervention are truly our Rotarian Partners.
We may envision a project, fund it, but in many cases, it is the Rotarian Partner who takes over the day-to-day implementation. So much so that often, they actually direct the project and the way it should go. They are our unsung heroes who ensure that the service required to be done is done more than adequately and in a quiet and unassuming way.
Many of our long-term sustainable projects are being handled by Rotarian Partners directed every year by the presidents and chairs who take charge.
For several years now, the children at Bhavishya Yaan have been mentored by Avaan, Jaya, Ekta, Beena and Priyanka and Asha. And, before them, several more unsung heroes.
Through their personal intervention they enter the lives of these children give them the loving care they never had and direct them into a more meaningful future.
The same is being done with the children at Machchimaar through our Lighthouse Project. Impacting their lives with moral values and and a future of hope, making a world of difference to a child who has only seen misfortune and struggle in their day-today living, subtle changes that will alter the future of the child.
We will soon be starting another child-centric initiative with the children of the Vaidu community, a forgotten tribe. A project conceived by Ekta Shah and her family which Rotary hopes to take over and support, shortly, and once again bringing some magic back into the children’s lives With the same care and personal involvement, they also support our Rotarians, bring joy to our elders who in their twilight years need some motivation inspiration and care, in an otherwise desolate day.
Our thanks to Vandana, Nandita and Perveen for adding value to many of our projects.
We may use NGOs to support our initiative but it is the Rotarian Partner who gives the project its personal touch and caring. So, whilst our Rotarians take care of several high impact initiatives in many areas of focus, our Rotarian Partners work quietly in the background, unsung but highly valued. A big thank you for the service you do.
