SAFE DRINKING WATER: JALNA AND AURANGABAD (VILLAGE CLUSTERS)

Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR) is a globally recognised organization dedicated to transforming the lives of millions across India in participatory watershed development and ecosystems restoration, adaptive sustainable agriculture, integrated and efficient water management, and climate change adaptation, with a special emphasis on vulnerable communities, farmers, and women.

WOTR works across thirteen different areas, using applied research to help rural communities reduce their vulnerabilities to climatic and non-climatic risks. It organizes them in a socially and gender inclusive manner to help themselves out of poverty.

Since inception in 1993, WOTR has restored over 8,913 sq. km of degraded land and its schemes have directly and indirectly benefited 1.4 million people. Over 385,000 people across the country and 63 countries have participated in WOTR’s training and capacity building programmes.

Together with WOTR, a renowned NGO in the space of watershed management, we will be providing safe drinking water to a cluster of villages in the Districts of Jalna and Aurangabad.

The approximate cost per project is Rs.1.25 crore each, totally Rs.2.5 crore.


MASINA HOSPITAL UP-GRADATION:

We have tied up with Masina Hospital, located in Byculla, Mumbai to provide and upgrade completely 10 different sections and departments of the hospital as under:

EMERGENCY AND CASUALTY DIVISION
The approximate cost of this is Rs. 1,03,00,000.

ORTHOPAEDIC OT
This includes surgeries of various orthopaedic treatments such as hand, shoulder & elbow surgery, total joint reconstruction, skull reconstruction, paediatric orthopaedics, foot & ankle surgery, spine surgery, surgical sports medicine, orthopaedic trauma. The approximate cost of this is Rs. 1,13,00,000.

CARDIAC OT
To treat complications of ischemic heart disease, to correct congenital heart disease; or to treat valvular heart disease from various causes, including endocarditis, rheumatic heart disease and atherosclerosis along with heart transplantation. The approximate cost of this is Rs. 2,47,00,000.

ENT OT
Removal of Superficial Skin Cancers, Tonsillectomy / Adenoidectomy, PE Tubes (Myringotomy), Nasal Septum Surgery, Sinus Surgery, Tympanoplasty. The approximate cost of this is Rs.1,15,00,000.

PLASTIC SURGERY & COSMETICS DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT
Ablative lasers for removal of small tumours, warts, skin tags, xanthomas, Non Ablative lasers for scar excision, keloids and hypertrophic scars, stretch marks, Intense pulse light for hair removal, acne, vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, birth marks, tattoos can be removed along with rejuvenation of the face. The approximate cost of this is Rs. 31,00,000.

EQUIPMENT RELATING TO DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION SURGERY FOR MOVEMENT DISORDERS
This involves the implantation of a medical device called a neuro-stimulator, which sends electrical impulses, through implanted electrodes, to specific targets in the brain (brain nuclei) for the treatment of movement and neuropsychiatric disorders. The approximate cost of this is Rs. 2,25,00,000.

ENDOSCOPY UNIT
The approximate cost of this is Rs. 72,00,000.

OPD DIGITAL EMR PROJECT
This is a software-based solution to provide a paperless OPD i.e. Digitalisation of OPD and for ease of use of pre-designed customisable templates. The approximate cost of this is Rs. 6,72,000.

BURNS DEPARTMENT
Masina Hospital is well known for Burns & Plastic surgery department & services and to increase facilities we provide & upgrade the machines from time to time. Approx cost: this is Rs. 41,00,000

PAEDIATRIC & NEONATAL DEPARTMENT
The approximate cost of this is Rs. 22,00,000.

PAEDIATRIC HEART SURGERY
We have tied up with leading hospitals of the city to provide up to 100 surgeries for needy children in this year at zero cost to the beneficiaries. The average cost per surgery is approximately Rs. 2 lakh.


Police health check-up

RCB organised a series of medical camps for Maharashtra Police’s junior officers and constables. Under the leadership of President Vijay Jatia, guidance of PP Rtn. Sandip Agarwalla and consultation with Additional Director General Police, Sanjay Saxena, the camp will be conducted in staggered phases in May and June 2019.

About a hundred personnel from the Police Training Center Khandala and 500 personnel from Police Training Center Marol will benefit from the drive. Rtn. (Dr.) Indumati Gopinathan from Thyrocare and Rtn. Rahil Shah of NM Medical are extending their services and good support to ensure the drive will be successful. Given the hectic schedule of the police force, a regular medical check-up is a must for their overall well being. Rotary Club of Bombay is happy to partner with Mumbai Police for their good health.

Police personnel will undergo tests to detect liver, kidney, heart and diabetes ailments. ECG, 2D Echo, Chest X-Ray, PAP Smear, gynaecological, dental and basic consultation will be performed on select groups.

The first of these was held on May 26th, 2019 at the NM Medical Centre, Vashi and Mulund. A total of hundred senior officers and 500 constables was examined.


E-Learning

Rotary India Literacy Mission has appeared in the literacy scenario of Washim district with 90 e-learning kits funded by SBI Foundation and supported by RI District 3030, RC Bombay and RC Navi Mumbai (Industrial Area), for Zilla Parishad schools. This time, they are digitising a total of 90 schools, 65 in Washim and 25 in Mumbai. Kits have been distributed to all the headmasters and teachers after preliminary training in hardware and software usage. RILM had received 100 per cent fund support from ONGC for installing e-learning facilities in 75 schools in Maharashtra. Out of these, 50 schools are in Mumbai (RID 3141) and 25 schools in Thane (RID 3142), respectively. School lists have been shared with ONGC. The e-learning.

The kit includes 32’’ LED TV along with an android box and software content via the DIKSHA App with a total unit cost of Rs 20,390. This is an excellent opportunity for the district/ club which will benefit more than 20,000 children in Government schools in the state of Maharashtra.


Kerala Relief Fund

A detailed survey and requirement of the hospitals was done in Kerala with the help of YMCA. Equipment was donated on the basis of that. Approximately Rs 52 lakh was spent on relief equipment to two hospitals. Equipment was donated to Shree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences and St. Thomas Hospital.
