Career guidance continues for BY kids

The Skill Development Committee (SDC) focusses upon guiding the children studying in the six Bhavishya Yaan (BY) schools about their future.

Over the last three years, the number of 10th standard children taking the Aptitude Test (administered by YoungBuzz) as part of the SDC activities has been growing in leaps and bounds.

Despite the challenges posed by the covid pandemic and resultant lockdown and dislocation, 49 kids took the test two years ago and 126 last year. These were all taken online. This year, 179 children enthusiastically took the test across six schools.

The test is followed by an individual career counselling session with each child and the child’s parents.

Further, SDC has developed a cloud database to track the progress of every child. It has key details of all BY children from standards 8 to 10. This is of great use to SDC, BY and the Scholarship Committee and RCB to track the outcome of our initiatives.

Infotutors have been retained to undertake the data collation exercise. Infotutors have been imparting computer skills in the BY schools since inception. They are familiar with the children, schools and have the requisite skills to undertake this assignment.
