From BY To Dream Job: A Journey With RCB

By Bhavishya Yaan alumni Nirmala Kokate Till the 6th standard, my education had been through books. After that, something changed. It was like magic. Bhavishya Yaan came into my life. BY at GK Marg introduced English and Computer classes and I enrolled myself. I gained a lot of knowledge and learnt so much more in the BY classes than what was taught in my regular school. After completing the 10th standard, I joined college. All five years of my college were
supported by Rotary scholarships of the Rotary Club of Bombay who paid my fees.

Side by side, I did a certificate course in Montessori training only because PP Preeti Mehta paid the fees for the course. I am passionate about teaching but would have never had the resources to do this. Ever since the 7th standard, I wanted to teach little children and my dream to become a teacher has come true due to Preeti ma’am. My family is very proud of me.

Just when I finished my course, I was offered my dream job at Life Trust School because of Rtn. Poonam Lalvani ma’am and Rtn. Ajit Lalvani sir.

I owe all of this to Bhavishya Yaan. It gave me self-confidence and made me believe in myself. It motivated me to pursue my goals and achieve them. Thank you, Rotary Club of Bombay, and my Rotary mentors at BY for helping me graduate, for making me a teacher and for making me independent by getting me a job.
