Fun-Day Sunday – Exciting Car Treasure Hunt

 In Sports

Though the 22nd of October was a Sunday, some of our Rotarians did not avail the privilege of sleeping-in late or lazing around! In fact, they spent a frenetic first half of the day chasing cryptic clues in their cars and enacting odd poses on the roads surprising most passers-by… but most of all, they shared a memorable day amid lots of laughter and a whole lot of fun together! Thanks to the exciting Car Treasure Hunt organized by the dynamic Fellowship Committee of the Rotary Club of Bombay. A total of forty-five people participated with the youngest participant aged six and the oldest aged eighty-six! The Treasure Hunt, which started at 9:30 am at Nariman Point and ended with a scrumptious, well-deserved lunch at The Bombay Gym, saw the Rotarians do an exciting SoBo-darshan! They had to unravel various clues, which made them race their cars all over Bombay to locations including the Buddhist Temple at Worli, the Jehangir Art Gallery, the Nehru Science Centre and the Balaji Temple at Fanaswadi!

It turned out to be a hilarious venture as well since these activities included having to enact the famous ‘Titanic pose’ at The Gateway of India, and posing with priests – bringing out the romantic and the devout sides in you! Finally, it was Rotarians Sherbanu Baldiwala, Carl Divecha and Fali Mehta who won the Treasure Hunt. They were awarded gift vouchers from The Trident. Kudos to Rotarians Deepak Kapadia, Jai Adwani and Khurshed Poonawala for organizing a brilliant event and special thanks to Rtn. Debu Bharma for providing lovely gifts for the winners. It turned out to be the perfect platform to also facilitate familiarizing new Rotarians with the current ones, with everyone enjoying an eventful, fun-filled, racy Sunday morn!
