Jai Hind holds panel discussion on Know Cancer – No Cancer

 In Cancer Aid

A live-streamed panel discussion on Cancer awareness was held on November 29, at Jai Hind College, Churchgate. Rtn. (Dr.) Ian Pinto was part of the panel discussion.

RCB received an encouraging response from people in the auditorium as well as through live streaming and social media channels.

The programme was well-conceived with certain last-minute additions like the involvement of Dr. Gautam Sen’s organisation Healthsprings. RCB had been on the lookout for hospitals and organisations to conduct the screening
tests.

So far, Jaslok and Raheja hospitals have offered to do so, free of cost, for the underprivileged. RCB is now looking
forward to tying up with Healthsprings to conduct primary screenings. Students of Jai Hind College have volunteered to be health ambassadors to take forward RCB objectives. They will be trained to counsel, guide and motivate people to go for screening tests. They will be trained by Dr. Sen at Healthsprings.

Vrushali Palwankar from Rotary Club of Bombay would be the Rotary’s single point of contact to coordinate and direct people to the concerned centres for testing and she will be appropriately briefed.

Many thanks to the committee members who attended: Rtn. Arin Master and Rtn. (Dr.) Suhas Shah.
