Scholarship For NSC Students

The K. Nivedita Scholarship Programme for students of our Night Study Centres was held on February 15th, 2022, at the YMCA International House, Mumbai Central. NSC’s top rankers at the SSC and HSC exams of 2020-21 were given
scholarships for further studies.

41 students received meritorious scholarships from the Rotary Club of Bombay. These students have been a part of our NSC for one to five years; they use our centres for self- study. Most of these children come from low-income sections
of society and their parents do not have regular jobs or are a part of unorganised labour force without a regular income. These students do not have a suitable place for regular study and depend on Night Study Centres. We have a total of 750 students across 19 centres located in BMC schools and community centres in Mumbai.

The scholarships were awarded by President Shernaz Vakil and Rtn. Leonard Salins, General Secretary of Bombay YMCA. The students and their parents were encouraged by the inspirational and meaningful words shared by the President Shernaz. She encouraged students to develop skills in the virtual world. Rtn. Leonard also addressed the audience and appreciated the effort and active participation of all the parents in the education of their children.

Students and parents expressed their gratitude and reaffirmed their decision to continue studying at our centres.
