 In From the President’s Desk

Dear friends,
I am very glad that Diwali was celebrated by members of our Club with great enthusiasm at the Fellowship organised by Sandip Agarwala and his team.

This issue of the Gateway and a few issues after this will carry reports received by us for the second Club Assembly. Please read them carefully.

The Club Assembly is a time to take stock of what our various Committees have done so far, to look ahead and see what we can expect in the months ahead.

I was personally very pleased with the Club Assembly that was held a few days ago. Many of our Committees have already done some very significant work. I must name the Ananda Yaan Committee for having not just launched two Elder Day Care Centres but also followed up with dedicated involvement over the last three months.

Bhavishya Yaan continues it’s huge effort. My respect for people involved in this Committee is huge because of their personal participation in five Municipal schools on a daily basis. The amount of work being done can be tracked in the columns of the Gateway and in the results can be tracked in the impressive showing at the end of the year. This is not some four day high – visibility effort. It is an ongoing commitment that needs to be recognised and lauded.

I am glad the Women’s Empowerment Committee, Scholarship Committee, Animal Welfare Committee ADMC Committee HTEC Committee are all firing with both barrels. The improvement in the ADMC Committee is particularly impressive. The Assimilation and Fellowship Committees have been outperforming as well.

And there are many months ahead where we will see great work being done. That my friends is the raison d’etre for our existence as a Rotary Club. More so as the premier Club of its kind.
