Harjit is an alumnus of India’s two premier management and engineering institutes. The managerial acumen and scientific engineering approach have earned Harjeet a reputation for clarity of thought. His deep insight into any subject and commitment to the Rotary movement for the last 24 years is apparent when one sees him in action at any event or project of Rotary.

He rose to Presidentship of his home within five years of joining the Club and was duly recommended by his home Club, Rotary Club of Mulund Valley, for Governorship 2019-20 for District 3141. His entrepreneurial abilities have turned his Dolphin Inks into a prime venture in the print market.

 

GUEST OF HONOUR: SABYASACHI MUKHERJEE, DIRECTOR GENERAL, CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ VASTU SANGRAHALAYA
Sabyasachi Mukherjee is Director General of CSMVS and also Director of the Postgraduate (Diploma) Programme in Museology and Art Conservation at CSMVS Institute, University of Mumbai. Under his leadership, from 2007, CSMVS has undergone extensive modernization, including refurbishment of the museum’s main building and the establishment of a conservation centre, a new Children’s Museum, an institutional archive, new galleries and educational initiatives. In 2010, in recognition of his initiatives, UNESCO awarded the museum the 2010 Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

He helms the Research and Publication Department at CSMVS, having expanded operations and revived several publications including the CSMVS Research Journal (a formerly defunct Bulletin). He has been a fellow of the Nehru Trust, Charles Wallace India Trust and the Salzburg Global Seminar. He holds an MA in Museology and an MA in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology from Maharaja Sayajirao University.

The Bombay Management Association conferred the ‘Special Jury Mention Award 2016-17’ upon him in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards the preservation of Indian culture and enhancing the glory of the prestigious museum. The University of Edinburgh recently conferred an Honorary Doctorate upon Sabyasachi for transformation of CSMVS to a vibrant, engaged and cultural catalyst in Mumbai.
