BMC Schools Celebrate Yoga Day With RCB

The Rotary Club of Bombay, in association with Kaivalyadhama and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, held Valedictory Functions of Yog Yaan Training 2018-19 in multiple BMC schools. These were organised on June 21st, 2019, International Day of Yoga (IDY), to mark the occasion.

The programme was coordinated by Ravi Dixit (Dy. Director), Dr. Nutan Pakhare (YEF Chief Coordinator and Medical Consultant), Sonali Jadhav of Kaivalyadhama, Rotarians and Rotary Partners from RCB, members and officers of BMC schools and other dignitaries.

Approximately 1,550 booklets containing Yoga guidelines were printed and distributed to students who had participated in 30 sessions of the annual Yog Yaan Training (2018-19). Each booklet contained a certificate of participation with the name of the student. More than 2,500 snack packets were distributed to students and school staff members participating in IDY.

YOGA DAY FUNCTIONS HELD IN MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS ACROSS THE CITY

G. K. Marg Municipal School: Rtn. Manoj Patodia (Co-chairperson of Yoga Committee, RCB) was welcomed as chief guest by Principal Mangal Patil, Yoga teacher Archana Shah, and assistant teacher Priti Patel. They supervised the function along with Yoga Education Fund (YEF) representative Sanjay Mohite. Around 220 people participated including students.

Colaba Municipal School: President RCB Preeti Mehta and Senior Police Inspector Shivaji Rao Phatare were welcomed as chief guests by Principal Ambarsing Magar, Yoga teacher Rasheeda Kazi and assistant teacher Shagufta Ansari. Around 70 people participated including students.

N.M. Joshi Marg Municipal School: Rtn. Shrinivas Prasad was welcomed as chief guest by Principal Manasi Surve, Yoga teacher Amey Naykodi and assistant teacher Leena Kothari. Rtn. Ptn. Jaya Prasad supervised the function. Around 268 people participated including students.

Byculla (East) Municipal School: Ratanadeep Vij was welcomed as chief guest by Principal Mr. Birambole, Yoga teacher Khadija H. Patanwala and assistant teacher Sharebano Chitalwala. Around 98 people participated including students.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Municipal School: Rtn. Jamshedji Vakharia and Keshavkumar Katkade were welcomed as chief guests by Principal Mohan Mane, Yoga teacher Darshana Wadegaonkar and assistant teacher Vasudha Nadkarni. Rtn. Ptn. Avaan Vakhariya supervised the function. Around 186 people participated including students.

K. D. Gaikwad Municipal School: Mr. Billare (Additional Deputy), Kisan Kenkare (Administrative Officer), Jagdish Gaikwad (Department Inspector) were welcomed as chief guests by Principal Vishnu Satpute, Yoga teacher Sneha Shikhare and assistant teacher Shivani Lunia. Around 90 people participated including students.

Sant Kakkaya Municipal School: Mrs. Dongre was welcomed as chief guest by Principal Ranjana Rajesh Dongre, Yoga teacher Pushpalata Chavan and assistant teacher Seema Dixit. Around 220 people participated including students.

Kavle Math Municipal School: Corporator Jyotsna Mehta was welcomed as the chief guest by Principal K. D. Vare, Yoga teacher Supriya Tengshe and assistant teacher Sonal Thakkar. YEF representative Sanjay Mohite supervised the function. Around 72 people participated including students.

Globe Mill Passage Municipal School: Rtn Mudit Jain, Rtn. Ptn. Malti Jain and Rtn. Ashok Chinai were welcomed as chief guests by Principal Ganesh B. More, Yoga teacher Pramod Rane and assistant teacher Bhavna Desai. YEF representative Sanjay Mohite supervised the function. Around 50 people participated including students.

New Mody Street Municipal School: Principal Mala Sarda was welcomed as the chief guest by Yoga teacher Pratima Diwedi and assistant teacher Aasaavari Soni. Around 150 people participated including students.

Prabhadevi Municipal School: Bhupen Patel (representative of Sunjewels Pvt. Ltd.) was welcomed as the chief guest by Principal Kevale, Yoga teacher Akshay Chavan and assistant teacher Jyoti Katkar. Around 100 people participated including students.

New Sion Municipal School: Murlidhar Soni (representative of Sunjewels Pvt. Ltd.) and Dr. Zahra Bandukwala were welcomed as chief guests by Principal Rajendra Pratap Tripathi, Yoga teacher Duriya Lokhandwala and assistant teacher Prasad Vanarse. Around 153 people participated including students.

Goshala Marg Municipal School: Ashish Dalvi (representative of Sunjewels Pvt. Ltd.) was welcomed as the chief guest by Principal Shubhangi Nitin Thakur, Yoga teacher C. V. Zarekar and assistant teacher Falguni Sheth. Ajit Jangam (representative of Veena Diecasters & Engineers Pvt. Ltd.) supervised the function. Around 100 people participated including students.

Marol Municipal School: John Thuman (representative of Sunjewels Pvt. Ltd.) was welcomed as the chief guest by Principal Shainaz, Yoga teacher Rajat Dua and assistant teacher Gyaneshwari Khumanthem. Around 115 people participated including students.

Vile Parle Municipal School: Keshan Chavan (representative of Sunjewels Pvt. Ltd.) was welcomed as the chief guest by Principal Suresh Mishra, Yoga teacher Sheetal Mestry and assistant teacher Sunita Dhoot. Rtn. Gaurav Nevatia supervised the function. Around 170 people participated including students.
